The CeeBees minor atom A team captured a gold medal at a tournament in Marystown Feb. 7-9. The CeeBees upended the Northeast Eagles 3-2 in the championship game. The gold medal.

The CeeBees defeated the Northeast Eagles 3-2 in the championship game at the Marystown Arena.

The title game was all action as both teams went at it. There was end-to-end action with slick skating and deft passing.

The game was tight heading into the final two minutes of regulation with the score tied at two.

That's when Christian Reardon scored to put the CeeBees ahead for good. Reid Deering and Jacob Clarke also scored for the victors.

In the round robin, Harbour Grace defeated the Eagles in a tight 4-3 victory.

The team followed that up with a 4-1 victory over X to push them into the finals.

The team posted a 4-1 round robin record. The CeeBees defeated Northeast, Clarenville (7-3), Trinity Placentia (1-0) and Marystown (4-1). The only loss came to CBR(3-2).

The gold makes it two straight gold medals for the club.

"It was a good weekend," said coach Neil Shute.

Members of the team are: Denver Neil, Aiden Hogan, Christian Reardon, Dylan Whelan, Riley Shute, Ben Ryan, Adrian Green, Jacob Clarke, Reid Deering, Ryan Jones, Hunter Saunders, Nicholas Antle, Joshua Kennedy, Matthew King, Riley Green, Andrew Taylor and Cameron Byrne. The coaches were Charlie Deering, Dave Kennedy, Randy Reardon, Dean Whelan and Neil Shute.
