Gateway curling hosts mixed provincials

The Gateway Curling Club is hosting the mixed provincial championships this week and a team from the host club is holding its own.

The rink skipped by Baxter House has four wins and one loss heading into today’s play. Other players on that team include Jenna Harvey, Dave Thomas and Sue Thomas.

The House rink is tied with the Kenny Young rink from Corner Brook’s Curling Club as of Friday morning. The rink to beat right now is the Gary Oke rink, also of the Corner Brook Curling Club. They are undefeated so far.

The Gateway's other rink skipped by Don Gillam has no wins and four losses as of Friday morning.

Tiebreakers and the Playoffs begin on Saturday and could extend into Sunday, depending on how those games go.

Spectators are welcome at the Bruce II Sports Centre. It will be a great chance to see high caliber provincial-level curling.
