If you did not know any better, you would say a provincial senior hockey game had invaded the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts on March 20.

Judging by the energy level you would think the Herder was in town, but it wasn't.

Instead, some 200 parents, grandparents, sibling and friends jammed themselves into the rink for some intense novice major action between the Bay Arena Rovers and the CeeBees.

Featuring some of the finest novice talent in Conception Bay North, the game was an outstanding exhibition of skating, shooting, passing and goaltending.

It was the first game for both teams in the Avalon Celtics Novice Invitational Tournament being held in St. Johns March 20-23.

The CeeBees took the game 10-3, but fans were treated to a fine game.

The Compass was there and grabbed these shots.
