CeeBees minor captures two more provincial banners

The CeeBees Minor Hockey Association will be adding two more banners to the rafters of the S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium in Harbour Grace.

This is after the association’s atom A and bantam B teams captured provincial titles in tournaments April 24-26.

The atom A team went undefeated en route to the D division championship on home ice.

The CeeBees started the tournament with a lopsided 9-0 defeat of the Marystown Mariners. That was followed by a tight 3-0 defeat of the Conception Bay Regional Renegades.

The winning ways continued for Harbour Grace on Day 2 of the competition. First, it was a 10-1 defeat of the Clarenville Caribous.

After it was a dramatic 0-0 tie with the Avalon Celtics.

With their place in the championship secured, the CeeBees finished the round-robin with a defeat of the Whitbourne-based Trinity Placentia TeePees.

The score in that game was 3-1.

In the championship, the CeeBees met Avalon in a rematch. Harbour Grace got goals from Dylan Whalen, Reid Deering, Matthew King and Jacob Clarke en route to a controlling 4-1 victory.

Members of the team are: Denver Neil, Aidan Hogan, Jacob Clarke, Reid Deering, Riley Green, Ryan Jones, Joshua Kennedy, Matthew King, Christian Reardon, Riley Shute, Dylan Whelan, Nicholas Antle, Cameron Byrne, Adrian Green, Ben Ryan, Hunter Saunders and Andrew Taylor.

The CeeBees bantam B team also went undefeated in its bantam I division tournament held at the Trinity Placentia Stadium in Whitbourne.

The CeeBees opened the tournament with a 5-1 victory over CBR, and followed that up with a 9-0 defeat of the Trinity Placentia representatives.

In its third game, Harbour Grace doubled the Goulds 6-3 to book its ticket to the championship on April 26.

In the championship, the CeeBees again doubled the Goulds 4-2 to take the provincial title.
