Rob Button named to Recreation NL board of directors

The Town of Carbonear's recreation director has been named to the Recreation NL's board of directors.

Recreation NL named its board of directors at its annual general meeting in Grand Falls-Windsor on May 31. Named to the position are: front (l-r) —  Annette Oldford (St. John’s), Gerry Hall (St. John’s), Blair Delaney (president, Mount Pearl), Dawn Sharpe (Portugal Cove-St. Philips) and Wanda Merrigan (Channel-Port aux Basques);John Andersen (Makkovik), Derek Bennett (Lewisporte), Dave Nichols (Grand Falls-Windsor), Steve Martin (Holyrood), Brandon Reardon (St. Anthony) and Clayton Welsh (Grand Bank). Missing from photo is Rob Button of Carbonear.

Rob Button will serve a second term on the board of directors. He was named to the board last year as well.

Button was named to the position at Recreation NL's annual general meeting held in Grand Falls-Windsor on May 31.

He is the longtime recreation director with the Town of Carbonear.

During the meeting, Blair Delaney of Mount Pearl was elected as the president for Recreation NL.

Meanwhile, the board of directors is comprised of Annette Oldford (St. John's), Gerry Hall (St. John's), Dawn Sharpe (Portugal Cove-St. Philips), Wanda Merrigan (Channel Port aux Basques), John Andersen (Makkovik), Derek Bennett (Lewisporte), Dave Nichols (Grand Falls-Windsor), Steve Martin (Holyrood), Brandon Reardon (St. Anthony) and Clayton Welsh (Grand Bank)
