A list of events taking place in the Trinity-Conception-Placentia region.

Paws N’ Pals

The Bay Roberts Public Library is hosting a Paws n’ Pals educational bite prevention seminar for children ages 4 to 12 years on Saturday, July 5 between 1 and 2 p.m.

Newfoundland games

The Cupids Legacy Centre will hold traditional Newfoundland games Saturday, July 5 at 2 p.m.

Flower Service

Coughlan United Church in Harbour Grace annual Flower Service Sunday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at the cemetery on Military Road. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the church on Water Street.

Country music

The Whitbourne Lions Club will host its monthly old time country music event July 6, at 2 p.m.

Flower service

A Flower Service will be held at the United Church cemetery Spaniard’s Bay July 6 at 2:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the service will take place at the museum (former United Church, Spaniard’s Bay).

Pillow top craft

On Sunday, July 6 the Cupids Legacy Centre will hold a pillow top craft event from1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Call 528-1610 for details or to register.

Swim the Kyle

The Town of Harbour Grace will host the 5th annual Swim the Kyle event on July 12 and 13. For event details and locations, call the town office at 596-3631.

Heritage day

New Perlican will host a heritage day Saturday, July 12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All are welcome.

Church breakfast

The St. John the Evangelist church in Coley’s Point will host a breakfast July 19 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more, call Debbie at 786-0555 or Maxine at 786-6342.


There will be a fundraiser for the Special Olympics July 26 at 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Carbonear.

The Bay Roberts Public Library is hosting a TD summer reading program 2014 for children. For more, call 786-9629 or stop in to pick up a kit.

The Carbonear special events committee is looking for members. Interested residents can can call the town hall at 596-3831 for contact details.

Looking for volunteers

The Conception Bay Museum in Harbour Grace is looking for senior volunteers from any CBN community during the months of June until September. New board members also needed. For more, call Pat at 596-2171 or Cheryl at 595-2261.

Texas hold ‘em

Held weekly at the Royal Canadian Legion, Carbonear, beginning Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. Members and non-members are welcome. For more, call 596-3691.

AA meetings

The Carbonear AA group will meet at the Keyin College building on Goff Avenue. Meeting schedule is Monday,Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 p.m

Clothing donations

The Canadian Diabetes Association’s Clothesline program is looking for donations of reusable clothing and cloth items. Items can be dropped off at the red drop boxes at Foodland in Whitbourne and Freshmart in Dildo. There are also drop offs at Powell’s in Carbonear, Harbour Grace and Bay Roberts, Drover’s Store in Whiteway, Crocker’s Esso in Heart’s Delight, Hindy’s Gas Bar in Winterton and Gas Land in Old Perlican.
