ST. JOHN'S, NL — A pair of Conception Bay North students were among those honoured at a recent Skills Canada competition in St. John's.

Holy Redeemer's Abigail Galway and Carbonear Academy's Rebecca Sellars earned medals at the 15th annual Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Intermediate Challenge, held Nov. 25 at MacDonald Drive Junior High.

Galway claimed a silver medal representing the Spaniard's Bay school in the graphic design competition, while Sellars earned a bronze for public speaking.

Saturday's event attracted 400 junior high students from across Newfoundland and Labrador. Skills Canada hosts various trade, technology and employability competitions as part of an effort to encourage young people to pursue career paths.
