Brianna Fowler, 13, a student at Amalgamated Academy, and Sara Smith, 13, a student at St. Peters Elementary School, recently won the Lion’s Peace Poster Contest, sponsored by the Bay Roberts Lions Club.

Smith, of Upper Island Cove, expressed hope for the future in her piece, which depicts nations from across the world coming together to create peace.
Fowler, a student from Clarke’s Beach, painted a picture focusing on a theme revolving around learning from past mistakes.
