Santa Claus hits the parade circuit in Trinity-Conception-Placentia

If you didn't catch him this past weekend in St. John's, don't fret, because Santa Claus is visiting a whole slew of Trinity-Conception-Placentia towns in the coming days.

Communities will host Santa Claus parades just about every weekend leading up to Christmas Day. The jolly old man is set to take a break from his duties at the North Pole to bring greetings to children throughout the area.

The Compass will grab their cameras to take a few snaps at some of these parades. If you're looking to plug into the holiday season a little early, why not check out some of these upcoming events.

Bay de Verde

Saturday, Dec. 2 at 12:30 p.m.

Bay Roberts

Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. Starting from the fire hall and finishing at Ascension Collegiate.

Festival of Lights parade takes place Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Departs from Amalgamated Academy at the soccer field of the Wilbur Sparkes Recreation Complex.

Brigus

Saturday, Dec. 16 at 12:30 p.m. Breakfast with Santa form 10 a.m. to noon at the recreation centre. Please bring a non-perishable food item.

Bryant's Cove

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. Starting from the end of Point Road.

Carbonear

The 67th annual Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department Santa Claus Parade will be Sunday, Dec. 10. Floats will line up at 12:30 p.m. in the Home Hardware parking lot. Parade leaves at 1 p.m.

Clarke's Beach

Saturday, Dec. 16. Parade leaves the town hall at 10 a.m.

Cupids

Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2:00 p.m.

Green's Harbour-Hopeall

Saturday, Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. Starting at the government wharf in Green's Harbour. Hot chocolate and snacks with Santa at 7 p.m. at Peg's Pizza building.

Hant's Harbour

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. starting at the wharf. Will proceed to the recreation centre.

Harbour Grace

The Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade's annual Santa Claus Parade is Saturday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. The Kay's Restaurant float will collect donations for the food bank, and the Clarke's Furniture truck will distribute loot bags.

Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. Starting by the lighthouse.

Heart's Delight-Islington

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. Starting from Brook Cove in Islington.

New Harbour

New Harbour Youth, Recreation and Heritage Committee's Harbour Lights Christmas Parade taking place Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m.

New Perlican

North Shore

Sunday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. Starting in Burnt Point and proceeding south towards Kingston.

Old Perlican

Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m.

Placentia

Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1:00 p.m. with prizes for best walking group, as well as best youth, organizations, and volunteer floats. Parade ends at the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre.

Spaniard's Bay

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Upper Island Cove

Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Victoria

Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10:00 a.m. Starting at Persalvic.

Whitbourne
