Monster truck show coming to Mile One in June

A new monster truck show, Monster Spectacular, is roaring into St. John’s on June 13, fresh on the heels of sold-out shows across Canada.

In a news release, Mile One Centre says fans will see some of the “biggest, baddest monster trucks on the planet rattling the roof,” plus freestyle motocross with the Milot Land Team, including back flips.

The show will feature:

• World champion Mike Vaters, who has redesigned both the truck and the graphic design of the world famous Black Stallion with 1,500 horsepower at his disposal to try to fend off challengers to his title;

• Trent Montgomery, who drove the Canadian truck, Weapon 1, to a spectacular crash during the final Monster Spectacular event of last season;

• For the first time in the east, the all new 2015 world champion Overkill Evolution driven by Mike Vaters Jr.;

• Four times American Monster Trucks Racing Association champion Jim Tracey of Port Huron, Michigan will drive his new monster truck school bus, Higher Education.

There will also be modified ATV races.

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 8 at noon. They will range in price from $16 to $60 (tax included plus service charge) and will be available at the Mile One Centre box office, by phone at (709) 576-7657 and online at www.mileonecentre.com. A special child price of $16 is available in section P4 only.
