NORTH RIVER, NL — A teen girl from the Conception Bay North area will look to leave an impression with modeling agencies from around the world at an upcoming convention in Toronto.

Dena Lundrigan, 13, is a Grade 8 student at Amalgamated Academy in Bay Roberts. A North River native, she was one of 50 models selected at recent conventions in St. John's, Halifax and Moncton to attend the Canadian Model and Talent Convention in Toronto this May.

There, Dena will get to meet with agencies from New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, London, Tokyo, Montreal and Toronto. From a pool of thousands of applicants, the Canadian Model and Talent Convention typically chooses 400 attendees from across Canada for the Toronto event. The event is now in its 26th year and attracts dozens of the world's best agencies.

Dena is involved with multiple local dance groups, gymnastics and music lessons. She is the daughter of Tracy Mugford and John Lundrigan.
