The Crazy Tourist — a travel company — has recognized the Green Bay town in Newfoundland and Labrador as one of the best 15 small towns to visit in Canada.
While its own town promotes itself as the economic and business centre of the Green Bay area, the notoriety of what it has to offer goes well beyond that immediate reach. It is the sole representative of this province on The Crazy Tourist list.
Last summer, Springdale was also named one of the country’s top 50 small towns by Shereen Mohammed, a blogger for the Canadian travel agency Flight Network.
Springdale is an attractive town that sits on the shores of Halls Bay in central Newfoundland, according to The Crazy Tourist article. It is filled with attractions including a lovely harbour, a tranquil beach, Mainmast Museum and the H.C. Grant Heritage Museum. Springdale attracts several outdoor lovers as a result of its unique ecosystem. Moose, ducks and Canadian geese can often be spotted. It is also a great place for whale-watching.
