For those travelling around the world, St. John’s Newfoundland may be a popular destination. At least, it was for the Crescent Collegiate graduates.
Many graduates walked in groups of three this year. One such trio was Jordan Grenier (left), Rita Young (centre) and Gabriel Coombs, who each chose a tradition suit. Although unconventional for a female, Rita chose to wear the slacks and shirt over a dress. Each of the three graduates chose a different accent colour for their tie.

The Paris background was a popular destination for the attendees. Some graduates enjoying the city of love included graduating couples Kelsey Worthman (left) and Jonny Newhook-Smith (second from left), and Jordan Clarke (second from right) and Celeste Burry.

The graduating class of Crescent Collegiate in Blaketown, Trinity Bay took a trip around the world for prom 2014 this past weekend.

Backdrops were made to look like scenery from different popular destinations in Europe, the United States and Newfoundland.

Some 600-plus friends and family filled the Trinity Placentia Stadium. Just over half in attendance sat at tables reserved for those with tickets for dinner. The remainder watched from the arena’s bleachers, cheering for the female graduates in a flamboyant parade of gowns, and for the males in suits with colourful vests and ties.

The following is a snapshot into the formal portion of the evening.
