Some two dozen female softball players making up two teams gathered at the Ernest R. Clarke Memorial Softball Field in Victoria at 6:30 p.m. July 9.

The teams, Victoria Irving and K & T Concrete Works Ltd., began an intense but fun game that lasted just under an hour.

K & T were the winners, more than doubling the runs of Irving.

Some of the players have been taking part in softball in Victoria for the past five years, while others have just picked up the game.

Women come from all over Conception Bay North to take part twice a week, Monday and Wednesday. All four teams in the league play, with one game at 6:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m..

The other two teams are Barrett's Sawmill and Dr. Elliott Dentistry.

The league executive are:

Jennifer Baker (president), Kelly Burke, Deanne King, Tracey Sutton and Holly Parsons.
