Sept. 2 marked the final day of summer vacation for school-aged children in the Trinity-Conception-Region.

It signified the end to long nights, sleepovers and endless bicycle rides with friends, as well as the arrival of early mornings, teachers and new classes.

With this in mind, children of all ages got out in force in an attempt to stave off school bells and homework that comes when the calendar turns to Sept. 3.

In particular, these Upper Island Cove girls were offering passerbys the chance to purchase a refreshing glass of iced tea.

From left, Ainsley Hicks, Maren Hicks and Makaila Nippard were waving and smiling as they offered tea for the bargain price of $.25.

All three are headed for St. Peter's Elementary in Upper Island Cove for Grade 1, kindergarten and Grade 3, respectively.
