BAY ROBERTS, NL – The RCMP are investigating a daring armed robbery that occurred during the middle of the day at the Royal Canadian Legion in Bay Roberts.

According to police, on Thursday, March 8 a lone male suspect entered the Legion with a weapon and fled with a sum of cash. They responded to the call at about 12:15 p.m.

The suspect is described as being in his twenties, and approximately five-feet, six-inches tall with a medium-to-large build. He has light-coloured eyes, which are possibly blue, and black, wavy hair on top with the sides of his head shaved. The man was clean shaven with a round face and a darker complexion.

He was wearing a heavy winter jacket that was black with fur trim on the hood and blue jeans.

Police are also interested in a suspect vehicle that they believe to be a newer four-door Chevrolet, possibly a Cruze, that is white in colour.
