It will get dark a lot earlier once the clocks are turned back overnight Saturday.
Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador are asked to remember to turn clocks back at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.
In addition, residents are also asked to do a check of their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure the batteries have power in them and the devices are operating properly.
Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your home, the basement included, in all bedrooms, the hallways outside of bedrooms and any subsequent sleeping areas.
People who employ wood, oil or propane appliances to heat their homes or cabins, or to cook with should have a carbon monoxide detector on each level of the building.
