Merv Wiseman set to officially announce Liberal nomination bid for Bonavista-Burin-Trinity

CLARENVILLE, NL – Search and rescue advocate and business owner Merv Wiseman will make his candidacy for the Liberal nomination in the federal riding of Bonavista-Burin-Trinity official on Thursday morning.

Wiseman will join a list of candidates that so far includes Pete Soucy, Dale Foote, Churence Rogers and Larry Guinchard. 

Judy Foote resigned as MP in September, opening up the seat. A nomination date has not yet been set.

Wiseman, a retired search and rescue coordinator with the Canadian Coast Guard, currently operates the largest silver fox farm in North America and is president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture.

He will make the announcement at the Clarenville Inn at 11 a.m.
