CARBONEAR, NL — With a brand new municipal depot up and running, members of the Carbonear council got a first-hand look at the facility last week.

The depot is a sizable upgrade from the one public works employees were accustomed to, with plenty of storage space for tools and equipment, as well as brand new bathrooms and office spaces. Additionally, space for the town’s vehicles, both big and small, has opened up extra room for season-specific gear.

Town of Carbonear council members were given a tour of the new facility by Brian O’Grady, the town’s director of operations and public works, earlier this month. While there were still some slight improvements in the works for the building, located just off of Pike’s Lane, it is otherwise open to workers and fully functional – a process that took some time but was well worth the work, as O’Grady told council during the tour.
