Transportation workers clean up debris from the Trans -Canada Highway at the scene of an accident that saw three killed near the Howley exit Wednesday morning.

Three people were killed in a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Howley Junction this morning.
The Deer Lake Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police says two other people were taken to hospital with injuries.
The accident occurred just after 9:30 a.m. about a half kilometre west of the junction.
The RCMP did not provide any information on the ages or genders of the deceased.
The investigation into the accident is continuing at this time and traffic in the area may experience delays throughout the day.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Deer Lake are currently on the scene of serious collision involving two vehicles about half a kilometre west of the Howley Junction.
A release from the detachment says the road is currently impassable and that crews are working to free up one lane.
The public is advised to use caution if driving in the area and to be patient in the event of delays.
Police say they will provide an update when the road is passable.
