Corporal Frank Pike said, “The investigation into the incident is ongoing and voyeurism is a crime punishable by law.”
Any such incidents should be reported to the RCMP.
He noted that people should be aware of their surroundings and if they see such an incident happening to someone else to make that person aware.
It was reported in other media that Gander Town councillor Sarah McBrearity was the individual who was targeted in this incident.
The Beacon contacted McBrearity for comment, but she replied in an email saying, “I'm not interested in doing further interviews on the matter. This has placed my family in a vulnerable position and I think it's best if I let the police handle it going forward.”
