Grand Falls-Windsor men arrested in Bishop’s Falls heist

BISHOP’S FALLS, NL –Tyler Baker and Michael Moores, both of Grand Falls-Windsor, are in police custody following their alleged involvement in a convenience store theft Tuesday night in Bishop's Falls.

The two men have a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP stated in a press release that members arrived on scene rapidly after receiving a call at 10 p.m. about the robbery.

Officers deployed the police dog section to the area. It was learned that a lone adult male with his face partially covered had entered the store, stated he had a knife and demanded cash from the clerk, the release added. Nobody was injured and the suspect fled the store with $550.

A suspect vehicle was identified. Within minutes the suspect vehicle was located, stopped, and the identity of the prime suspect was learned, the release noted. 

Shortly thereafter the 18-year-old male suspect was located and arrested. 

The 18-year-old male driver of the suspect vehicle was determined to have been involved and was subsequently also arrested. A total of $475 of the stolen cash was recovered.  

The men have been charged with robbery, as well as other offences.
