Stapleton won the $100,000 top prize on the Jan. 17 TAG draw, after stopping at the store to check a lottery ticket that had been sitting on her dining room table.

“I didn’t dream that it was a winning ticket, but I wanted to check it at the store to be certain, and I am certainly glad I did,” Stapleton said in a written statement. She purchased the ticket at Shopper’s Drug Mart in Churchill Square.

Stapleton’s comedy-driven play “Brazil Square” ran at the LSPU Hall last month.

“The show has a character whose lifelong dream is to go to Italy. Her dream didn’t work out, however this win will help me rewrite that story,” she said.

Stapleton also plans to invest some of the money in her home.
