The Tri Pen Osprey are gearing up for another season.

The Bay Roberts-based club has announced a date for its player identification camp for the 2014-2015 Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League season.

Scheduled for the Rogers Bussey Arena in St. John’s, the Osprey will be running the camp on June 1 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The team will not only be looking at midget-aged players, and are encouraging second-year bantams to come out for the skate.

However, their involvement with the team hinges on them being able to obtain exceptional player status from Hockey NL.

The Osprey made a successful return to the provincial major midget circuit last season.

Taking in players from minor hockey associations in Bay Roberts, Bonavista, Clarenville, Harbour Grace, Marystown, Placentia and Whitbourne, the Osprey finished the regular season in fourth place out of five teams and secured a playoff spot.

In the playoffs, Tri-Pen would bow out in the first round, losing four games to one to the eventual league champion Central IcePak.
