The 8th annual Fog Trot 10 kilometre run will be taking place in Arnold’s Cove on Sept. 13, this year.

It’s easy to see where the run gets its name, as the fog is a common site in the Placentia Bay area.

The runners will take off from the starting line at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and it costs $10 per runner. There will be no advance registration offered.

All funds raised for the event will be donated to the Children’s Wish Foundation. To date, the annual run has raised upwards of $25,000 for the foundation.

Prizes will be offered for the fastest time, as well as second and third place for male and female runners. The winner receives a cash prize.

Mike Penney, who helps organize the event each year, told The Packet the run raises money to support a good cause in the Children’s Wish Foundation.

“We look forward to doing this every year for the Children’s Wish, and with that said, we hope to get a lot of support from Clarenville and surrounding areas to help make it a successful event,” he said.

There will be water for participants along the route of the 10 kilometre run.

Later in the evening, Fog Trot music fest will be taking place at the Arnold’s Cove Lions Club. The doors open at 3 p.m. and there will be live music going on until close. The main headliner of the show is the band, Three Shades of Gray.

Penney says they’ve been lucky to have a lot of recognition in the past and hope to continue its success.
