FRENCHMAN’S COVE, N.L. — The 2018 season at the Grande Meadows Golf Course in Frenchman’s Cove officially got underway May 9.

Already many of their regular programs have started with Ladies Golf going ahead on Mondays and the Men’s League playing each Thursday.

The next week will see two of the annual tournaments being played, with the Chamber of Commerce John Coady Memorial Golf Tournament and Social scheduled for June 7.

The Grande Meadows Invitational Tournament is slated for the weekend of June 8-10. This will be the 21st year that the Invitational has been held at the nine-hole course, which is in tip-top shape again this year.

The Future Links program, for ages five-10 starts at the end of the school year as well as the Junior Golf program which involves young people, ages 10–18. This season Grande Meadows also offers a Junior Membership for young adults, ages 17–24.

At present seven full-time employees are working at Grande Meadows while other will be added throughout the busier summer season.

The www.grandemeadows.ca website carries all the latest news and events happening at the course. There is also a Grande Meadows Facebook account up and running.

The local golf season at Grande Meadows usually comes to an end after the Thanksgiving Weekend in October.
