Finally! A medal for Newfoundland; wrestler will grapple for gold tonight

Angel Hiltz-Morrell, a 15-year-old wrestler from Conception Bay Centre, won Newfoundland’s first medal at the 2017 Canada Summer Games Friday in Winnipeg.

Hiltz-Morrell, wrestling in the 84 kilo weight class, pinned her Ontario opponent Friday morning to set up a gold-medal match Friday night.

She is guaranteed of at least a silver medal.

Hiltz-Morrell has won four straight matches, over wrestlers from Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Ontario.
