St. John's Junior Hockey: Blades have had the edge so far

The Mount Pearl Mark’s Blades are looking pretty sharp through the early stages of the 2017-18 St. John’s Junior Hockey League season.

The Blades downed the Northeast Eagles 6-1 Sunday at Jack Byrne Arena to improve to 6-2. Stephen Predham had two goals for the Blades, and Michael Broders had three assists …

On Friday, however, the Blades were dulled 7-2 by the homestanding Southern Shore Breakers. Liam Hynes had three goals and two assists for the Breakers, while Blake Dalton scored twice and assisted on another. Patrick Pilon collected four assists.

The Trinity-Placentia Flyers slipped past the C.B.N. Stars 4-3 Sunday at the Trinity-Placentia Stadium in Whitbourne. William Hickey had a goal and two helpers for the winners … Saturday at the C.B.S.
