ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — The Poseidon Swim Club had a strong group of competitors in the water for the recent Spring Slash meet, held May 3-6 in St. John’s at the Aquarena.

Rylee Moores had a particularly good meet. The 13-year-old placed first in the 13-and-under 200-metre individual medley race. She also had four second-place finishes (50-m free, 50-m fly, 200-m free and 100-m free) and one third-place finish.

Seventeen-year-old swimmer Andrew Littlejohn had a second-place result in 14-and-over 200-m breaststroke, and Mackenzie Sutton placed second in 200-m individual medley and third in 100-m backstroke for 13-and-under girls.

Several other Poseidon swimmers finished with top-eight results at the meet — Jorja Bennett, Jayden Pike and Kendra Slade.

Poseidon’s next meet is the Summer Classic, which takes place June 1-3 in Mount Pearl and St. John’s.
