A gathering was held recently at the Cable Building in Bay Roberts to express thanks to visual artists and noteworthy donors for their contributions to the local heritage society.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, the Bay Roberts Heritage Society held a special gathering at the Road to Yesterday Museum and Christopher Pratt Gallery. Pratt was among those attending the event, held Sunday, July 21.
The gallery relies on the willingness of artists to have their works stored and displayed on site, while the museum's displays include many items donated by local families.
The Bay Roberts Heritage Society was founded in 1989 and was incorporated two years later. Its mandate is to help preserve the community's history. It spearheaded effort to restore the historic Cable Building, which now houses the museum, gallery and the society's archives on its top floor.
