Freshwater coffee house

Freshwater Coffee House will celebrate its 100th open mic episode Friday, April 19, at 7 p.m. Admission is free will donation. Come help us celebrate our milestone.

Good Friday Easter drama

“A Portrait of Passion” will be performed at the Salvation Army in Bay Roberts at 7 p.m. Freewill offering will be taken. Not recommended for children under 12.

Eastern open mic

There will be an Easter open mic jam session at the Carbonear Legion on Saturday April 20, starting at 2 p.m. downstairs. There will be an Easter Basket to be won and other ticket draws. Soup and rolls will also be served at no charge and there is no cover charge to get in. 19+ are welcome to come along and if you are an entertainer, we will enjoy hearing you play.

Carbonear blood donor clinic

Canadian Blood Services will be holding a mobile donor event at the Knights of Columbus, Carbonear on Tuesday, April 23, from 12:30– 3 p.m. and 4:30–8 p.m. There are 161 appointments to fill. Carbonear residents are asked to book their appointments today by downloading the GiveBlood app or visit blood.ca.

The Parish of Bay Roberts-Coley’s Point will host a Community Buffet Breakfast at St. Matthews Church, Bay Roberts on May 4 from 8:30-11 a.m. Cost $10.

Old-Time Country Music

The Bay Roberts Lions Club is hosting an old time country music-bluegrass open mic session on the fourth Sunday of every month. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show starts at 2 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge at the door and cafeteria service is available. Musicians are encouraged to bring along an instrument and participate in the entertainment or just sit and tap your feet to the sound of some of your favorite country songs. Hope to see you there.

New Hope Al-ANON

Meets every Tuesday 7:30 p.m. at the U-Turn Addictions Centre in Carbonear, at 46 Powell Drive. A 12-step recovery program for relatives and friends of alcoholics.

Wednesday

NAR-ANON

The Trinity Conception NAR-ANON Family Group offers a 12-step program designed to help relatives and friends of addicts recover from the effects of their addiction. We always maintain personal anonymity. Meetings Wednesday nights, 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the U-Turn Addictions Centre, 46 Powell Drive, in Carbonear. For information, call 786-1797 after 5 p.m.
