Burin Peninsula Arts Council recognizes efforts of Cody Harvey

MARYSTOWN, N.L. —

The Burin Peninsula Arts Council has named Cody Harvey as the 2018 winner of the Theatre Arts Scholarship.

Harvey is from Grand Bank, and has been deeply interested in the theatre since high school. He has performed in both the Burin Peninsula Regional Drama Festival and the Grand Bank Theatre Festival.

Harvey won the Ashley Tulk and Matthew Symes Memorial Award for Most Spirited in 2012 and 2015 at Burin Peninsula Regional Drama Festival, and the Excellence in Acting Award in 2016.

He is studying Theatre Arts and Performance at Centennial College in Toronto, Ont.

The Burin Peninsula Arts Council offers three scholarships per year, in the fields of music, visual arts and theatre arts.
