Christmas Day was pretty exciting at Mike and Nicole Walsh’s home in Marystown – even more so this year than for the obvious usual reasons.
In their Christmas stocking was a gift pack of Atlantic Lottery scratch tickets. One of the tickets turned out to be a $20,000 winner.
“At first we didn’t believe it and thought we were reading something wrong. I read the instructions six or seven times,” Mike told The Southern Gazette.
The couple’s two daughters convinced them to find an open gas station on the holiday and check the ticket, he said.
They followed the advice and the win was confirmed.
