Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Upper Island Cove, Newfoundland

UPPER ISLAND COVE, N.L. —

One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Upper Island Cove Saturday evening.

According to an RCMP news release, Bay Roberts and Harbour Grace RCMP along with firefighters from Upper Island Cove and local paramedics, responded to a single-vehicle collision on Cranes Road in Upper Island Cove on Saturday, Aug. 31 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

The driver and lone occupant, a 57-year-old man from the Conception Bay North community, suffered serious injuries in the collision. He was transported to Carbonear Hospital and died shortly after arrival.

An RCMP collision analyst also attended the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
