CARBONEAR, N.L. —

The Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department has received funding for a new pumper truck that will replace a 20-year-old vehicle.

Valued at $360,000, the provincial and municipal government will share the cost of the truck at a 70-30 split. According to Carbonear Mayor Frank Butt, who is also a volunteer firefighter, the fire department will discuss the specifications of the vehicle before it goes to tender.

The estimated delivery date for the vehicle is the summer of 2020.
