The Town of Stephenville is beginning its strategic plan development through a citizen engagement process called “Shape Our Future.”
According to a prepared statement, it is the first step in creating an avenue whereby the residents of Stephenville will have the ability to voice their opinions and be sure their ideas are being heard.
Deputy Mayor Susan Fowlow said these actions aim to find ways to really engage citizens in the plans for their community.
The Strategic Planning Process is the first priority of the Town’s Economic Development Committee.
Shape Our Future will begin with community engagement focus group discussions scheduled throughout the month of November and December.
The committee has sought out the professional expertise of independent facilitator, Sheldon Brown, and along with Stephenville’s economic development team, Candace Simon and Scott Locke, they will meet with groups representing all citizens.
Information on where and when these sessions will take place will be posted in the coming days, as well as will be shared on the town’s website, social media and billboards.
