Trial of Salmon Cove man accused of aggravated assault against RCMP officer set to begin

HARBOUR GRACE, N.L. – A Salmon Cove man will go on trial for several criminal charges in Harbour Grace Provincial Court on Oct. 11.

Harry Rose, 53, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, unlawfully committing aggravated assault against a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and causing a disturbance.

Three days have been set aside for the trial.

The charges stem from an incident involving the RCMP that occurred outside of Carbonear General Hospital on Nov. 5, 2017.
