The Cee Bees Bantam 1 team captured gold at the annual Lloyd Neil Memorial Tournament played in Harbour Grace.

It was a five-team tournament earlier this month, in memory of one of Harbour Grace’s most remembered players. According to organizers, Neil always showed respect for teammates, coaches, officials and opponents when he stepped on the ice and that’s what this tournament was all about.

With a three-way tie in second place, it turned out to be a very competitive tournament as well. Playoff games were tight between the Bay Arena Rovers and Clarenville Caribous and the Cee Bees and CBR Renegades.

The championship game ended intensely with the Cee Bees coming out on top over the Rovers 5-4.
