The Tri-Pen Ice won the 2019 Bantam AAA Female Provincial Championships on Saturday, March 16 in Twillingate, defeating the Central Ice Pak two games to one in the best-of-three finals.

The championship team is made up of the top 13 and 14-year-old female players from the Bonavista and Burin Peninsulas and the Trinity-Conception-Placentia region. The Ice went back-to-back as they were the provincial winners in 2018.

The Ice are hosting the 2019 Atlantic Regional Championship being held in Clarenville from April 4-7. That tournament will feature the best players in the Atlantic provinces. The Central Ice Pak also earned the right to participate in the Atlantics as the runner-up in the provincial championships.

The provincial playoff series featured three teams. The Ice also defeated the Eastern Ice Breakers in two straight games to take the semi-final series earlier in the weekend.
