UPDATE: Texas fell to Florida 10-7 in the American final on Saturday. Scroll down for the full review.
A spot in the Little League Baseball World Series championship game is on the line for Bourne Little League as they square off against Lake Mary Little League again on Saturday.
Texas defeated Florida on Monday to send them to the losers bracket. The Southeast representatives returned to the US finals by defeating the Metro, West, and Mountain teams in three days to earn the right to a rematch.
Boerne, meanwhile, will have their best pitcher on deck for Florida. Julian Hurst, who served as Bourne’s catcher in Texas’ 5-2 win over Nevada on Wednesday, pitched a complete game in Bourne’s 4-1 win over Lake Mary. He has accumulated nearly 20 strikeouts so far this tournament and has a chance to lead Texas to its first American title since 2017.

Neatville LL, near Houston, made it to the US title game last year, but lost to California’s El Segundo in the West Region.
The LLWS runs through Sunday, when the winners from the US and international brackets face off in the championship game. The first match on Saturday pits Venezuela against Chinese Taipei for the international title.
Texas vs. Florida 2024 LLWS: Score Updates, Highlights Saturday
First inning, 0-0
3:00 PM: Bourne’s ace Julian Hurst took the mound and walked Lake Mary’s lead-off hitter Chase Anderson to start the game. The next batter hits a slow one-hopper to Hurst, allowing shortstop Jed Matthews to make a double-play. A flyout to center field ends the inning.
3:22 PM: J.J. It’s Feliciano’s turn to take the mound, and Hurst is first in Texas. In the Battle of the Aces, Hurst singled to center field on a 2-2 pitch. A wild pitch allows Hurst to reach second. Feliciano hits Gray Collins, but Cooper goes to continue Hastings. Another pitch gets past Florida’s catcher, putting runners on second and third. Feliciano struck out Doc Mockford and Cole Newson to end the inning, but the Lake Mary ace had already thrown 30 pitches.
2nd inning, 2-0 Texas
3:26 pm: Hurst starts the second with two quick groundouts. His first strikeout quickly sends Lake Mary to safety. Just 21 pitches through two innings for Hurst.
3:40 PM: Great start to the inning for Feliciano with three straight heaters to strike out Kaden Guffey. Jed Matthews hit a grounder into the defense’s soft spot for a single. A passed ball allows Mathews to take second. With Feliciano already hitting his 85 pitch limit, Aiden Munoz walks. He conducts cage stooping next to loading the bases. A wild pitch gave Texas its first run of the day and Bourne extended the lead on a Caleb Crist groundout. Feliciano gets a strikeout to end the inning at 57 pitches.
3rd inning, 4-0 Texas
3:49 PM: Hurst continues to get hitters down as he begins the frame with a three-pitch punch out. He continues it in his third and fourth day account. Bourne’s ace was hitless through three innings.
4:05 PM: Ben Burkhart struck out to start the inning for Texas. Back at the top of the order, Hurst collected his second hit of the day with a single to left. Feliciano walks Collins to put runners on first and second. Hastings connects weakly to a shallow pop-out. With two outs, Mockford hit a two-run double out of the outfielder’s reach. Feliciano threw his 84th pitch for a third strike.
4th inning, 4-1 Texas
4:20 PM: Matthews’ throw to first short on a grounder was too late, giving Florida its first hit of the day. Hurst throws a wild pitch, which allows the runner to advance to second. The pitcher gets back on track with another strikeout, but Lake Mary collects a single to put runners on the corners. A single gives Florida the first run and things get interesting. Hurst settles matters with a strike. After a dropped third strike went to the backstop, Caffe struck out Landon Bono.
4:26 PM: Bono replaces Feliciano on the mound and gets his first out on a grounder to shortstop. Matthews flies out to left field and Munoz does the same to right field.
5th inning, 6-4 Texas
4:49 PM: Hurst gave up a double to lead off the inning, and a mound visit revealed the pitcher was having shoulder problems. He then gives up a single to put Lake Mary runners on the corners. A grounder got Hurst out of the inning for the first time, but it made the tying run 4-2. He conducts another bunt to stop the advancing runner at first and coach Justin Newson makes his move. Mockford replaces Newson on the mound and promptly gives up a one-run double to Teraj Alexander. Mockford was stabbed in the leg by the returner and the game was tied. Newson replaced Mockford, who was injured in the attack. The pitcher gets the strikeout, but a lapse in concentration allows Alexander to score from third. A four-run frame ends with another K by Boerne.
5:08 pm: Texas could still hit, two of which were sandwiched between Christ’s strikeouts. Lake Mary makes a pitcher change to Luis Gallo with Hurst on deck and runners on first and second. After Burkhart gets out, Hurst walks with the bases loaded for Collins. He ties the game with a grounder up the middle. A pitch away from the catcher, Bourne takes the lead. Hastings swings out… except he doesn’t. Lake Mary missed a strike three and a Texas score because Hastings didn’t even realize he could run to first. A groundout sends Bourne into the sixth with the lead once again.
6th inning, 10-7 Florida
5:30 PM: Christ entered the game to pitch for Newson and lead off the batter. With the tying run at the plate, Florida smokes a double to center that bounces off Collins’ glove. Christ then walks in on Bono and the floors are packed. A shallow pop-up gives Boerne a chance for a double play but Chryst drops the ball at first base. A grounder took a bad hop past Matthews and Florida pulled back to make it 7-6. A sacrifice fly ties the game at 7 runs. With two outs, Gallo hit a single into the right field gap that scored two runs. Alexander then walks, and Gallo’s pitch-runner Morrissey tries to advance to third. A throw to third from Texas and Florida scored another run before Alexander was caught trying to take third down.
5:37 PM: Texas’ spot in the LLWS finals rides on this frame and Kufe starts it off with a strikeout. Matthews gets on base, but Lake Mary turns a double play on the next pitch to end the game.
